Jon Hayward

Jon has held senior managerial positions at major manufacturers for more than 20 years. Throughout his professional career, he has managed teams consisting of more than 550 people and overseen the successful implementation of a range of Japanese Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.

Jon has implemented countless successful initiatives to motivate staff, increase teamwork and improve efficiency. He has improved operations at all levels, from purchasing to stock control to waste, and managed all elements of the supply chain, from external warehousing to outbound finished goods.

Jon’s natural ‘hands on’ management style has enabled him to manage numerous companies through times of rapid growth. In particular, he managed The Speciality Sauce Company through a £16 million turnover increase in just two years and The Serious Food Company (formerly Sunjuice) through a £60 million turnover increase in just four years.

Throughout his career in the food manufacturing industry, Jon has worked on accounts with major retailers, including Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Asda, Innocent, Subway and Rustlers. He attained Grade-A British Retail Consortium certification for several manufacturers, Tesco V4 Green for Easibake and managed a successful Marks and Spencer PPC Green Audit for The Serious Food Company. Jon also held full profit and loss accountability for Beacon Foods and The Serious Food Company. His wealth of financial management experience ensures he provides a vigilant and stringent focus on budgets and costs to secure sustainable growth and a profitable future.

Jon is a proven manager and consultant, delivering a truly rounded approach towards improving efficiency, reducing waste and increasing profitability throughout the supply chain and at every level of operation. Jon’s background and experience has helped him successfully make the transition into the training arena and is currently involved in delivering Leadership & Management programmes at levels 3 & 5, Improvement programmes from shop floor through to senior management inc Six Sigma & Finance for non financial managers amongst others.
