Our funding page gives an overview of what is available to both businesses and individuals based in Wales. The funding available ranges from Leadership & Management Development, Business Planning and support for individuals who have been made redundant or who are facing redundancy.
Enhanced Leadership and Management Skills
Private sector organisations based in Wales who would like tailored Leadership and Management Workshop programmes can apply for funding with Palladium who have partnered with Blue Sky Business Solutions. These programmes are part funded by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.
SMEs must contribute 30% towards the cost of the workshops. Non SMEs must contribute 50%.
Workforce Development Programme Discretionary Funding
Working with HRD Advisors (a free service) a business learning plan is developed identifying the necessary development and training required to assist the business achieve key aims and objectives. Businesses have the opportunity to apply for different levels of support and must be currently part of the Welsh Government’s Workforce Development Programme.
Discretionary funding support is open to all private sector employers and can be used to support a wide range of training including areas such as leadership and management, ICT, HR, customer service and technical skills. SMEs and Non SMEs must contribute 50% towards the cost of the workshops.

Who is eligible?
There is funding available for individuals who are under notification of redundancy or who have become unemployed due to redundancy in the last 6 months and have not been employed continuously for 6 weeks or more since being made redundant.

Discretionary Award – Extra Support
All individuals will have their training needs assessed by Careers Wales who will also be able to advise on suitable training courses.
Under this part of the scheme, the following support (financial) is available:
100% of training costs to gain new skills (up to a maximum of £1,500)
Assistance with cost of special equipment needed for training
Assistance with the cost of travelling to and from the training courses
Assistance with overnight accommodation for training courses where appropriate
Contribution for childcare costs whilst undertaking training courses (subject to limit and conditions)
